Some of the greatest kids I ever met were pupils at Foxhole School. There was no bullying because the kids wouldnt stand for it. Although there was as tough patch with the school for scandal tag. The school was no worse than say Kevics and in many respects it was a whole lot better.The decision to close it I believe was done for reasons other than they stated. It could have recovered if the will to make it succeed had been there. You only need to look at Park School and Sands School to see that it was possible. I have met many ex pupils and not one has agreed with the decision to close. Once again proof that the 'organisation' is weak willed.
In the end the building was left to rot for many years.
Similar story could be written about Aller Park. It is criminal that such a wonderful building had been left . Excuse after excuse put forward for reasons why it was beyond repair.Only the intervention of a councillor actually saved it from being demolished. Eventually getting the building listed.
Shrouded in mystery the reasons why Anita Roddick of BODY SHOP fame,pulled out of putting 2 Million pounds into the place. One rumour being that the 'Trust' wanted to impose stupid conditions. 1 being that they would require the building for 6 weeks per year for Summer School.
